Event: DUMBO Arts Fair

Location: 68 Jay St. Room 506, 5th Fl, DUMBO Brooklyn

DUMBO arts fair.....a chance to browse open studios and see what is happening in DUMBO. And I’ll be there again this year..... for the first time displaying my new recycled materials series side by side with my works from the past.

Photo of original artwork by artist Michael Mut. Title: We are all the Same #PF1

I’ll be unveiling my new "figures", an exciting collection inspired by my view that "we're all the same". In this series I also used 99.99% recycled materials.

Also, you’ll see my newest large-scale work consisting of 10 panels affixed at different depths to one frame. The display of the artwork is now also part of the experience art The image positions and depths can be determined pre-production to suit individual tastes.

Past works mostly on canvas and linen will be on display for you to enjoy and discover the creative steps that have led me to my present work.

I hope you'll come and view my works as I'll be displaying in a large 1000 square foot space at 68 Jay St. Room 506 , 5th Fl

Event: BWAC Outdoor Sculpture Show

Location: Empire/Fulton Ferry State Park and the Main St. section of Brooklyn Bridge Park.
Entrances: At Water Street, Dock Street or Main Street at the East River, at the foot of the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges, Brooklyn.

Come view Michael Mut's extraordinary sculpture displayed in this show. It is 99.99% recycled materials (discarded children’s toys).

She Creature: Sculpture made of recycled children's toys. Artist: Michael Mut

Background: The sculpture (She Creature) is made of used/discarded children’s toys and/or items used by children or parents. Mut intends the creature to show us how large our waste output is. He chooses recycled materials to keep people aware of the voracious consumption and greed that is causing our current problem with waste and the related issues of space and pollution. Mut's creature represents our ego and the effects of unconscious actions. This creature is here to stay and will grow and multiply if we continue on this journey of destruction. Ultimately, Mut's work begs one important point: We must look within, learn to love ourselves first so that we may begin to manifest new actions, new choices and begin caring for others and our environment consistent with love.
